The Launton Handbell Ringers were
founded in 1951 by the late Frederick Sharpe, the noted bell historian and
campanologist. Originally based in the village of Launton in Oxfordshire, the members
now come from a wide area of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire.
The number of ringers in the team for any particular event varies from six to eleven.
There is a repertoire of over four hundred pieces including traditional and folk music,
popular classics and music written especially for bells.
