Our open meetings

Our open meetings are held at Longford Park Community Hall. Hobby Rd, Bodicote, Banbury OX15 4G .
All members are welcome to help the committee set up the hall from 1.45pm for the talk. We also value help from members with the refreshments following the meeting. There is a £1 attendance fee per member which includes refreshments. The meetings commence at 2.30 pm with a welcome from your Chairman followed by the talk of the afternoon. The talks usually last for around 1 hour followed by Q&A and refreshments and a chat.

Volunteers set up the hall before 2.00 p.m. on the afternoon of a meeting. Attendees are checked in, with their £1.00 payment (which includes hot drink and biscuits), The meeting commences at 2.30 p.m. with a welcome from the chairman or other committee member, and brief notices before the presentation, which usually lasts around one hour, including questions. A hot drink and biscuits are then served. The provision of refreshments requires volunteers and members are asked to sign up to a rota in advance. After plenty of social chat, members clear the room of chairs and tables and return it to its former tidy state.
Visitors, guests and potential new members are very welcome to attend these open meetings and are asked to pay £2.00 entrance fee, which also includes the refreshments.

The social side

At the first meeting in January, we hold a get together to give some cheeriness to what can be one of the dreariest months of the year. Those attending are asked to bring a plate of food to share and the emphasis is on chatting and socialising. We also hold a social (or Tea Party) in the summer months. Individual Group Convenors will be able to tell you what events they arrange for their group members.
