26 March : The life of a honey bee colony

Margaret Murdin has been keeping bees for 25 years. She has been Chair and President of the British Bee Keepers Association and is now an honorary life member. She holds the highest beekeeping qualification, the National Diploma, examines at all levels and teaches beekeeping internationally.

The talk will be about “The life of a honey bee colony” and a comparison of their lives with ours. How they mate, produce and feed their young, how they communicate and generally how they have developed over the last 140 million years…..longer and more successfully than we have.
